I am currently in India and my work permit is being processed. However, my passport is set to expire on October 26 this year, so when I receive the visa it will be after April 26, meaning there will be less than six months left on my passport. Can I still enter the UAE or will there be a problem? If I renew my passport, can I travel on my new passport while the visa is issued against my old passport? AK India
As in many countries, the UAE requires an individual to have at least six months unexpired on a passport and for tourists that is technically six months after their proposed departure date. Anyone trying to enter without six months validity is likely to be refused. It is best if AK gets a new one and travels with the two passports (old and new). If he joins them with an elastic band there is not likely to be a problem on entry.
