Huh-huh-huh. Heh-heh-heh. Please excuse us, we're just practising our Beavis and Butt-Head laughs but don't appear to be hitting the right guttural tones. Fourteen years after they last left TV screens, Mike Judge's rock-loving teenage dimwits are set to return for 30 new episodes to be aired this summer. With this in mind, here are some Beavis and Butt-Head facts to chew on.

Take Five... Amphibious opener

The gruesome twosome first appeared in Judge's short film Frog Baseball. MTV then signed him to transform the concept into a series, which first aired on March 8, 1993.

Take Four... Disclaimer

MTV aired the show with a disclaimer, the final form of which read: "Beavis and Butt-Head are not role models. They're not even human; they're cartoons. Some of the things they do would cause a person to get hurt, expelled, arrested - possibly deported. To put it another way: don't try this at home."

Take Three... Fire!

Beavis was a bit of a pyromaniac and would frequently shout "fire!", until MTV bigwigs banned the word, even removing it from earlier episodes. However, the creators would frequently use similar words, such as "Fryer!" Beavis finally got to shout "fire" again in the film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.

Take Two... Daria

Daria Morgendorffer was a recurring character in the series, and went on to find fame in her own MTV spin-off show, Daria, which chronicled her sarcastic and nerdy exploits in high school.

Take One... It's, huh-huh-huh, 3D

The pair actually appeared in the opening for Jackass 3D, surely a show they would endorse 100 per cent. Shot in 3D and traditional animation, Butt-Head demonstrates 3D technology by slapping Beavis, telling him it's in 3D.
