The Emmy-winning actor Ty Burrell – that's Phil Dunphy from Modern Family – is enjoying an extended break in the UAE.
But he’s clearly not taking things easy, with a packed calendar of engagements over a reported 10-day stay.
It’s understood Burrell arrived in Dubai on Friday March 27, and began by keeping a low profile.
That didn’t last long though, with the 47-year-old star spotted at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi on Tuesday March 31, accompanied by his wife Holly.
The pair both rode the world’s fastest roller-coaster and got behind the wheel of the Scuderia Challenge, according to sources at the park.
Burrell will also be in the capital on Wednesday April 1, where he plans to give a talk about his acting career at New York University’s Abu Dhabi campus, on Saadiyat Island. Sadly, this one is invite-only.
However the general public will get a chance to see Burrell in the flesh when he makes an appearance at a Dubai nightclub.
It’s understood the double-Emmy Award winner will be hosted sometime this week at The Act Dubai, ahead of the venue’s official second birthday celebrations. He plans to depart on Sunday April 5, according to sources at the club.
Burrell's screen work began with appearances in a run of Hollywood movies including Black Hawk Down (2001) and Dawn of the Dead (2004). His first major television roles came next, first as Dr Oliver Barnes in Out of Practice, and then later as Back to You's Gary Crezyzewski.
Burrell found household fame in 2009 after being cast as Modern Family's Phil Dunphy, a role for which he has picked up numerous awards, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, in both 2011 and 2014, and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series, in 2013.
He also recently voiced the eponymous Mr Peabody in children's animation Mr Peabody & Sherman.
