The Sheikh Zayed Book Award is now accepting nominations for next year. Writers, publishers and agents from across the world are invited to apply across all nine categories award with a total of Dh7 million prize money up for grabs.

The several awards recognise writers for their skills in fiction and non-fiction with a specific category for children’s literature.

There are also categories for the contribution to the development of nations, literary and art criticism, publishing and technology, young authors and Arab culture in other languages.

The latter category accepts written works about Arabic civilisation and culture, in the fields of humanities, fine arts, and literature throughout its historical eras, in five languages; English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

Established in 2007, the Sheikh Zayed Book Award aims to promote scholarship and creativity in the Arab World and has made a big impact region wide.
