tickets are available from midday Thursday and the promoters Flash Entertainment expect bumper ticket sales.

After the

(available for du customers and FLASH members) ending midday today, the lion's share of tickets is now available with prices beginning from Dh395 for general admission before rocketing up to Dh2995 for the Fire Pit category at the front of the du Arena Stage.

Mike Fairburn, the Flash Entertainment director of marketing and planning, described The Rolling Stones Abu Dhabi date “as the the most significant concert the UAE has ever seen.”

“As we talk today, everyone of us has a favorite Rolling Stones song,” he said.

“They have defined rock and roll, have inspired tens of thousands of bands and have been a catalyst for the growth of arguably the world's most popular music genre, Rock and Roll.”

Fairburn said the work to secure the legendary group's Abu Dhabi performance were “years in the making. This has been our strongest ever pre-sale, the phones have not stopped ringing. What's fantastic is we've seen fans buy from all over the region. We now look forward to the public on-sale this Thursday at midday, where tickets can be bought from ticketmaster.ae and Virgin Megastores Mall of Emirates, Dubai Mall and Abu Dhabi Mall. Get online guys, this one's going to be a giant show!”

It was only relatively recently that a UAE tour became a distinct possibility.

“Over the past nine months this intensified as the band played some historic UK and US shows, and it became clear they were planning to hit the road,” he said.

“From there it became a combination of hard work, professionalism and a little good fortune with artist schedules and commitments to bring the Rolling Stones to Abu Dhabi.”

With Abu Dhabi the opening show of a tour leading them to Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Fairburn says global fans will be paying special attention to the du Arena performance.

“The eyes of the world have been on the Rolling Stones for decades,” he said.

“Their tours are legendary; truly global occasions with huge productions, spectacular performances and once-in-a-lifetime experiences for all those lucky enough to get tickets.”
