Rashed Al Nuaimi singing Fly Me to the Moon in a duet with himself

Emirati talent is increasingly coming in all shapes and sizes. A couple of examples include comedian Ali Al Sayed, named "one of the most influential comedians in the world" by Toastmasters International Magazine , and Emirati surfer Mohammed Rahma who will be competing in an international surf competition in Spain next week.

However, I was still taken aback when YouTube introduced me to an Emirati jazz singer covering Frank Sinatra's timeless version of Fly Me to the Moon.

Not only did the young Rashed Al Nuaimi do the jazz classic justice with his mature voice, he showed us his humorous side by singing it as a duet, with himself.

With one Rashed dressed in a kandoura performing and interacting with his more arrogant suit-wearing self, Al Nuaimi produces an all-round entertaining clip.

Just like the astronaut Buzz Aldrin who played Sinatra’s version on the moon in 1969, it’s easy to see the versatile Emirati artist, who also sings opera and pop, is definitely going places.
