Glenn and Shannon Dellimore, the founders of cult beauty-treatment brand Glamglow, paid a visit to Dubai recently, and spoke to Luxury about the brand's beginnings and rise to global acclaim. Learn about the different Glamglow mud masks on the market, to figure out which one is best for your skin.

Youthmud was the first product created by the Dellimores, and was initially sold only to their friends in Hollywood, before it landed on retail shelves in Neiman Marcus department stores in the United States. With a base of French sea clay, the treatment is also referred to as a “facial in a jar”, and promises to make skin look smoother and feel softer. To use Youthmud, apply a think layer to face and leave it on for 10 minutes, before washing your face, rubbing in a circular motion. “You know it’s working when it tingles,” says Glenn. “That’s the ingredients being absorbed, and the red blood cells coming to the surface of the skin.” The Youthmud treatment from Glamglow costs from Dh100 to Dh320, and is available at Sephora stores.
Coming with an applicator, Gravitymud is a peel-off treatment that lifts skin, leaving it firmer. The product is formulated with the Dellimores’ patented Teaoxi technology, marshmallow and liquorice leaf, and when applied, has a chrome-like glow. Apply a generous layer of the formula to your skin with the applicator, and leave it on for 30 to 35 minutes before peeling it off, and rinsing your skin. Shannon recommends “multi-masking” — she uses Supermud on her T-zone, and Gravitymud on her lower cheeks and neck. “Supermud is our number one best selling product by far,” says Glenn. “When we launched it, it was the first time in the world than any brand has created a mud-base using acids and leaf all combined together.” Not recommended for use on sensitive skin, Supermud should be applied in a thin later, and left on for 5 to 20 minutes. It can also be used as a spot treatment. “It’s really going to clear those pores and keep the skin clear,” says Shannon. Thirstymud is a hydrating treatment that’s great for in-flight use, when skin tends to get dry. “With our Thirstymud it was the first time in the world that any company had tried to use a mud or clay in a hydrating treatment — nobody every attempted that before,” says Glenn. The Dellimores recommend using this two or three times, leaving it on for 10 to 20 minutes each time, before wiping it off with tissue. Alternatively, it can be used as an overnight moisturiser.
