Kris Jenner unveils jewellery collection



The 60-year-old star of Keeping Up With the Kardashians – and the mother of Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner – has teamed up with JOIA De Majorca to launch her glitzy new line. The first – and so far, only – item in the line is a set of multicolour pearls that can be worn as a necklace or a bracelet. Jenner posted a photo of herself wearing the beads on Instagram and wrote: "My new jewellery line, Kris Jenner Signature Collection, is here! The first limited edition necklace is available now." – IANS

Bend It Like Beckham bound for India

British filmmaker Gurinder Chadha is taking the stage version of her hit film Bend It Like Beckham to India. The play is based on the 2002 film, which told the story of a Punjabi girl who pursues her dream of playing football in London against her family's will. The film, which tackled issues such as cultural opposition and racism, launched the careers of Parminder Nagra (who went on to star in American medical drama ER) and Keira Knightley, and also starred Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Anupam Kher and Archie Panjabi. Footballer David Beckham also made a cameo appearance in the film. Chadha adapted the film for the stage with a musical spin, adding a Bollywood dose of dance and music, and it opened in Britain in May last year. – IANS

Furla launches India-exclusive gold clutch

Italian lifestyle brand Furla, which has been creating high quality bags, shoes and accessories since 1927, has launched its first ­India-exclusive bag – Maaya, a limited-edition glitter clutch. Designed in champagne and gold, it has a specially ­inscribed plate inside that reads "Furla Exclusive For India", authenticating the exclusivity of the bag. Costing Rs22,000 (Dh1,190), it features a golden cross body chain, is made of glittering fabric and comes in two sizes. It is available only at Furla stores in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. – IANS

Top honours for Richard Mcguire at comic festival

American illustrator Richard McGuire has been awarded France's top comic-book prize at the Angoulême festival. The 58-year-old won the Fauve d'Or prize for his groundbreaking graphic novel HERE, which focuses on a single corner of a room and the events that have taken place there over centuries. It was published by Gallimard in France. McGuire is also a regular contributor to New Yorker magazine. – AFP
