Image Nation Abu Dhabi will once again collaborate with Dubai International Film Festival to offer grants to filmmakers who submitted to December’s DIFF.
In partnership with the festival’s Enjaaz post-production support programme, Image Nation will offer up to five grants of up to Dh50,000 each to successful applicants, who will be judged by a panel of experts including Image Nation development executive Talal Al Asmani.
This will be the third time the two have collaborated to offer funding to Diff filmmakers, who will also be able to benefit from Image Nation’s skills and experience to develop their own film making talent.
Mohammed Al Mubarak, chairman of Image Nation commented: “Image Nation Abu Dhabi is proud to once again partner with the Enjaaz programme to support local and regional filmmakers.
“The partnership compliments the numerous programmes we have to help develop a sustainable film community in the region. We’re looking forward to seeing the array of talent from this year’s festival and hopefully uncover some filmmaking stars of the future.”
Diff’s artistic director, Masoud Amralla Al Ali added: “This programme has been created through Diff’s partnership with Image Nation to develop a vibrant filmmaking community in the region. This fund is crucial to supporting film development which will contribute to enriching film culture benefiting audiences both here and abroad and will further define the regions filmmakers.”
The successful candidates will be announced at May’s Cannes Film Festival.
