Michael McIntyre is set to reveal a brand new show when he returns for a double-header of gigs in Dubai, on June 12 and 13.
The comedy heavyweight is reportedly the UK’s second most successful comic ever, in financial terms at least, amassing more than Dh115 million in just two years (just shy of rich list topper, Peter Kay).
And McIntyre proved a massive regional hit following two sell-out shows in Dubai in June 2013.
Now the 39-year-old will be hoping to repeat the trick with the two gigs at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
“I loved performing in Dubai a couple of years ago, and can’t wait to return with my new shows in June, at the hopefully heavily air-conditioned Dubai World Trade Centre,” joked the comedian.
Support on the night will come from UK personality and comic Paul Tonkinson, well known for working on TV show The Big Breakfast.
The gigs will give UAE crowds an exclusive taste of McIntyre's new Happy & Glorious tour, before a 34-date run one home turf, starting in August.
McIntyre’s previous Showtime tour, which visited Dubai, played to a total of 640,000 people across the globe – making it the biggest selling comedy tour in the world, topped with a record-breaking 10-night run at London’s 02 Arena.
The Dubai shows are promoted by Done Events and Off the Kerb Productions.
Thomas Ovesen, chief operating officer at Done said: “After his sold out shows in 2013, I am sure tickets will fly out the door for one of the world’s most popular and best-selling comedians.”
• Tickets, priced at Dh350, will go on sale from 10am on Tuesday March 24 at www.doneevents.com and all Virgin Megastores.
