Get ready, bethrothed: we have all you need to know about the Bride Dubai show. Hot on the heels of Bride Abu Dhabi at the end of January, Bride Dubai will welcome happy couples from tomorrow until Saturday. Now in its 18th year and housed within Dubai’s International Exhibition Centre, the luxury nuptial-cum-lifestyle event will feature leading wedding designers, planners and jewellery from the region and beyond. Here’s your guide to the venue and its key exhibits.
The Fashion Catwalk
Catch the latest ready-to-wear and couture collections of bridal, eveningwear, abayas, kaftans and jalabiyas during these daily shows. Check out the full schedule of designers this year, which includes collections from Zareena Haute Couture and Hayla Couture plus jewellery from Amwaj.
Bridal and Beauty Theatre
Head to the dedicated bridal and beauty theatre to hear from experts, including the event planner extraordinaire Sarah Feying of Couture Events, the celebrity hair and make-up artist Daniel Bauer, and the fashion director of RR&Co Bespoke Luxury Management, Rosemin Manji – who will be providing her spring/summer 2015 Trend Report. Beauty and styling tutorials will take place alongside interactive Q&A sessions with industry experts, who will share their top tips on everything from venue bookings to smart budgeting.
Designer prize
A noteworthy competition this year is the Young Designer Award, which will see fashion students and amateurs display their creations before a panel of judges. The 10 shortlisted budding designers have to make an outfit on the theme of “Red carpet – a day at the races”. In addition to the judges’ final decision, members of the public will also have their say via the People’s Choice Award, which comes with a trophy and gift hamper.
Bride bonus
If you are engaged, have UAE residency and plan to wed before December next year, you might want to enter the Lucky Bride competition.
The winner will receive a bridal package, that features treats including a makeover package from The American Surge Centre, worth Dh4,800, and a bridal dress from Marriage Fashion Design worth Dh25,000. Sign up online to enter the competition. The winner will be announced at the show on Saturday.
