Register now to take part in the Abu Dhabi Swimming Festival, sponsored by Daman ActiveLife, in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi leg of the FINA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup, which takes place in six countries. Emirati Adornment: Tangible & Intangible is an interactive exhibition as part of the Emirati memory project, Lest We Forget. It explores Emirati identity through modes of adornment, from garments, jewellery and weapons to henna, kohl and fragrance, as well as grooming and hairstyles.

The Worthy, directed by acclaimed Emirati filmmaker Ali F Mostafa, follows a group of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world seeking refuge near one of the few clean water sources left, where two infiltrators arrive and engage them in a deadly game to determine who will be deemed worthy. Arabic thriller with English subtitles, starring Samer Al Masri, Mahmoud Al Atrash, Samer J Ismael, Maisa Abd Elhadi, Habib Ghuloom and Ali Suliman.

Buy tickets for the Abu Dhabi Festival, and save 25 per cent, this week only, using code FEB25. The festival runs from March 14 to 31 and features a mix of artists across a variety of genres and nationalities. It opens with Saudi singer Mohamed Abdo, whose concert is currently sold out, but a waiting list is available. There are also performances by China’s National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra, American jazz icon Wynton Marsalis, Portuguese singer Mariza, and The Silk Road Ensemble with Chinese-American cellist Yo-Yo Ma (pictured).

Catch a screening of a selection of short films directed by young filmmakers from the GCC who participated in the La Fémis Gulf Summer University. This is an intensive summer training programme in Paris that offers selected participants theoretical and practical training, ending with them directing a five-minute film. Following the screenings, director of the school, Nathalie Coste-Cerdan (pictured), along with some of the filmmakers, will lead a discussion.
