Sir Paul McCartney's 1997 solo album Flaming Pie  is ready for its re-release on Friday.

The LP is part of the “Archive Collection”, a series of McCartney's albums being remastered.

His 10th solo album was recorded across several locations and features members of his family.

It reached No 2 in the UK and US charts, and sold more than 1.5 million copies.

The former Beatle has been active on Twitter promoting the new version, and he revealed in one tweet that the album came with a mouth-watering bonus:

Flaming Pie was originally produced by McCartney alongside the "fifth Beatle", the late George Martin, and Jeff Lynne of the Electric Light Orchestra and the Travelling Wilburys.

The re-release is something of a labour of love.

The LP’s press release says McCartney “oversees all aspects of each and every title, from remastering to the curation of lost tracks, out-takes, artwork, photographs and video from his personal vaults, and much more".

The impending album drop has hordes of McCartney fans showing their anticipation with gastronomic puns on social media.

Flaming Pie  is available in record shops and can also be downloaded.
