The new series of Abu Dhabi Classics opened on Thursday at Al Ain's Al Jahili Fort.
The Lucerne Symphony Orchestra played one of Beethoven's most popular symphonies: the 4th Symphony, which was written in 1806.
Attending the event was Sheikh Saeed bin Tahnoon, along with a number of other dignitaries.
The orchestra heads for the Emirates Palace in the capital on Friday where it will play Gioachino Rossini's famous overture to his grand opera Guillaume Tell.
Next up after Friday's concert is a performance by Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra’s Trombone Trio at Al Hamooda Fort in Al Ain on November 9.
Abu Dhabi Classics runs from this October until next May.
