Many of us will remember the scene: when Macaulay Culkin's character Kevin in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York asks Donald Trump for directions from America's Plaza Hotel, a property the current US President owned at the time. However, it seems some Canadian viewers may never get the chance to see it, as the moment was cut from a TV version of the 1992 Christmas comedy by the country's national broadcaster, CBC. The move has caused a furore with Trump supporters this year, despite the edits being made in 2014, before the business mogul was elected. "As is often the case with feature films adapted for television, 'Home Alone 2' was edited for time," a spokesperson on behalf of the broadcaster explained in a statement. "The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot." In total, eight minutes of the 120-minute film had reportedly been trimmed to leave time for advertisements. The explanation seemingly hasn't appeased Trump supporters or Mr Trump himself, however. The US President's son, Donald Trump Jr, described the move as 'pathetic' in a tweet he posted with a link to the article. Mr Trump, who has previously said he was honoured to be in the film, describing it as "one of the biggest" Christmas hits, sent out his own tweet on the matter: "The movie will never be the same! (just kidding)," he wrote in one post. "I guess Justin T doesn't much like my making him pay up on Nato or Trade!" he wrote in another, referring to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
