In August, Sanjay Dutt announced that he was taking a break from acting to seek medical treatment. At the time, it was speculated that the Bollywood actor had lung cancer, but that was not confirmed. This week, however, he has spoken directly about his cancer diagnosis, saying: "I'll beat it."

In a video posted to Aalim Hakim's Instagram on Wednesday, Dutt thanked his barber for a great haircut, and then asks the camera to zoom in on a scar on his eyebrow and hairline.

"This is a recent scar of my life, but I’ll beat it," he says. "I’ll be out of this cancer soon."

Hakim is a Mumbai-based barber to the stars.

Dutt also says that he is growing his beard for a role in KGF Chapter 2, and confirms that he will be back on set in November, saying: "It feels good to be back and good to be in the role."

On his own Instagram, he posted a series of post-haircut photos, with the caption: "Gearing up for #Adheera! #KGFChapter2".

In the video, Dutt discusses his long history of having his hair cut by Hakim, saying that the barber's father cut his own father's hair in the past.

He also reflects on the strict hygiene standards in place at the salon, amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Hakim can be seen wearing a mask and gloves, while Dutt is without.

In the video he says: "Come on guys, it is always good to get out of the house... It is good to see the salon open, Aalim."

The actor visited Dubai back in September, with his wife, Maanayata. The couple flew in by private jet, which Maanayata documented on Instagram, alongside the caption: “en route life.” She also shared a picture of a coffee which featured Dutt’s face made from foam.

When in Dubai, she posted pictures from DIFC restaurant, Boca, and with their younger two children, Shahraan and Iqra Dutt, both nine years old.
