Lebanese singer Elissa has been declared the most popular Arab singer on Twitter after attracting a milestone 10 million followers.
The singing starlet is the first performer from the region to break into eight digits of supporters on the social media platform — with just 230,000 more followers than compatriot Nancy Ajram, who sits with 9.77 million.
The feat was recognised by bosses at Twitter, who formally reached out to Elissa's handle @elissakh with congratulations from @TwitterMENA.
Elissa has sold more than 30 millions albums, and in 2005, 2006, and 2010 received the World Music Award for Best Selling Middle Eastern Artist.
