Do we need another film in which a jaded actor fights the demons of their career? In the past year alone we've already had Clouds of Sils Maria and Maps to the Stars, but it turns out that the answer is a resounding yes, as Babel director Alejandro González Iñárritu delivers an adaptation of a Raymond Carver story that will surely earn multiple Oscar nominations. Michael Keaton delivers a career best performance playing a former superhero actor who returns to the theatre in search of some late-career credibility. His fellow cast members include an absolutely brilliant Edward Norton. But the real star of the show is cameraman Emmanuel Lubezki (Gravity), as the actions seems to be filmed in one long continuous take, with the camera bobbing and weaving around the theatre and from character to character like a boxer.
