  • Arabic

Iraqi-British artist Sabah Arbilli will display 100 artworks – all measuring 60 x 60 cm – under the title 99 Names for a solo exhibition at Ayyam Gallery Dubai (DIFC) in August.

Evoking Arbilli’s distinctive calligraphic style and exploring the referential names and attributes of Allah that appear in the sacred texts of Islam, each is devoted to a single name.

Ninety-nine of the artworks in the series are untitled; the 100th piece, titled Allah, embodies the various forms shown in each of the previous works.

• 99 Names runs from August 5 until September 10 at Ayyam Gallery, DIFC, Dubai. Call 04 439 2395 for more details
