In the city of Nagpur, a black-painted statue of Keshav Hedgewar, founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stands imposingly in the grounds of India’s biggest grassroots religious organisation. It was an organisation that India’s prime minister-elect Narendra Modi joined as a boy.
