DUBAI // A man whose burning remains were found in the Al Qusais Industrial area was believed to have been killed by his wife and her lover, police have said.
Lieutenant General Khamees Mathar Al Mazeina, chief of Dubai Police, said officers received a report at 12.15pm on Saturday, October 15 that a body was on fire.
A security guard had discovered the burning body near an electrical transformer.
Police questioned the man's wife, who first said he had left for a fishing trip 14 days previously, reported Aletihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National.
After further investigations, she admitted that she’d had an affair with her husband’s friend for almost two years and they had conspired to kill him.
When the other man was then arrested he told police he had set up a meeting with the husband.
When they met he tied up the husband, smashed a brick on his head and then hit him repeatedly with a car door before setting the body on fire.
