ABU DHABI // When it comes to forecasting weather conditions in the UAE, most days it’s quite easy: hot. Sometimes it escalates to very hot, which is what has been forecast for today.
Plus more haze, according to the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology.
Coastal highs will range between 39°C and 44°C and inland, temperatures will sizzle with highs ranging from 44°C to 48°C. In the mountains, the mercury will drop a little, with temperatures expected to swing between 34°C and 39°C.
At its height, the temperature will feel like 51°C in the capital, according to Accuweather.
The eastern and southern areas of the country may see convective clouds forming in the afternoon.
Wind speeds reaching between 20 to 30km per hour may stir up dust and sand, especially over open areas, causing reduced visibility. The seas will be moderate to rough at times in both the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
Humidity will increase overnight and into Monday morning, peaking at 90 per cent, which may lead to mist formation, especially over the western areas.
The lowest temperature recorded in the country on Sunday morning was 25.1°C in Jebel Jais at 4:30am in Ras Al Khaimah.
