DUBAI // Two people were killed in separate runover accidents in Ajman.
The accidents both occurred on Ittihad Road and led to the death of two Asian men. In the first incident, a 43-year-old man died at the scene and the second, aged 30, died after he was transferred by ambulance to Khalifa Hospital.
Brig Gen Sultan Al Nuaimi, deputy chief of Ajman Police, said: “Al Ittihad Road is considered a vital and main road in Ajman. Some people cross it randomly without using pedestrian crossings and putting their lives at risk.”
He added that police patrols constantly roam the area to prevent such behaviour and fine violators, in accordance with the law, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.
