Three injured as fuel tanker bursts into flames on Dubai motorway
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning
Three men were injured when a petrol tanker burst into flames after a crash on a Dubai motorway.
The accident took place on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road near the Ras Al Khor exit on Sunday, shortly after midnight.
Fire crews from Dubai Civil Defence’s Rashidiya station tackled the blaze, but both vehicles were completely gutted.
Three people escaped with relatively minor injuries, officials said, and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Firefighters controlled the blaze in about 20 minutes, Dubai Civil Defence said.
“The fire happened as a result of the collision between the tanker, which was carrying inflammable materials, and a private vehicle.”
