Motorists are being called to observe the speed limits and traffic signs due to the opening of a main traffic diversion at the junction of Latifa bint Hamdan Street and Al Asayel Street. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, RTA said the traffic diversion begin on Friday as part of a wider improvement project for Latifa bin Hamdan Street. It is expected to be completed early next year. The upgrades aims to reduce the waiting time at the junction from three minutes to less <span>than a minute which will ease the existing congestion on Al Khail Road</span>, state news agency Wam said. The Latifa bint Hamdan Street project will also see the construction of two bridges of different levels at the same junction. The first bridge comprises three lanes in each direction to serve the traffic on Latifa bint Hamdan Street eastbound in the direction of Al Khail Road and Sheikh Zayed Road, and westbound in the direction of Al Khail Road. The second is a bridge of two lanes in each direction to serve the traffic on Al Asayel Road to the north and south.
