A motorbike rider was killed in a road crash in Dubai in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man – whose age and nationality were not disclosed – lost control of his vehicle and smashed into a pavement.

The fatal incident occurred at about 3am in Al Barsha.

Police and emergency services were sent but the man died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

A biker was seriously hurt in a second incident on the Abu Dhabi-bound section of Emirates Road at about 3.15am the same night.
