Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed received David Beasley, the executive director of the World Food Programme (WFP), in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces welcomed Mr Beasley to the UAE and discussions focused on a “framework of cooperation and coordination between the UAE humanitarian organisations and the WFP to help the needy and affected people in different parts of the world” the state news agency WAM reported.

The two also discussed “means to liaise cooperation between the UAE authorities concerned with humanitarian affairs, and the programme” as well as challenges that WFP faces.

UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy,  and Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei were also in attendance.
