Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed meets Serbian president

The leaders discussed strengthening ties

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has held talks with Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic.

Sheikh Mohamed and Mr Vucic discussed bilateral ties and economic co-operation between the UAE and Serbia.

They also spoke about efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sheikh Mohamed posted photographs of the visit on social media on Thursday.

"It was a pleasure to meet my friend Aleksandar Vucic, President of Serbia," Sheikh Mohamed said.

Both sides have been in regular contact regarding containing the pandemic.

Last March, when Covid-19 was spreading across the world, Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE's support for Serbia's efforts to contain the virus.

Mr Vucic thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the UAE's assistance in helping Serbia to limit the spread of the coronavirus. The countries have strong ties across many fields.
