Several cars were involved in an accident on Sheikh Zayed Road in the Trade Centre tunnel towards Abu Dhabi on Thursday afternoon.
Dubai Police warned motorists of the multi-vehicle accident, asking motorists to “be extra cautious” and take alternative routes to avoid traffic build-up.
Police also alerted commuters about traffic snarls at Al Garhood bridge that was causing delays.
Earlier on Thursday, there were three separate accidents on busy arterial roads.
Traffic built up on Sheikh Zayed Road after an accident near Times Square mall, there were delays around the Ras Al Khor Industrial area following a crash and on the south-bound Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road near the Umm Suqueim exit.

- At 9.25pm, three attackers opened fire on restaurants and cafes over 20 minutes, killing 39 people
