Two men have been arrested for selling replicated tyres that do not comply with UAE standards and may cause traffic accidents.
Sharjah Police said they received a tip off about two Arab men who own a company that sells car accessories and were planning to sell fake, replicated tyres, worth Dh250,000.
Police raided the men’s warehouse and found vast amount of tyres marked for sale in the UAE and others to be exported.
“Substandard tyres could lead to fatal accidents. Fake and cheap tyres cost less, but they put lives at risk,” said Colonel Ibrahim Al Ajel, director of the Department of Criminal Investigation at Sharjah Police,
The men were referred to Sharjah Prosecution to face charges.
