DUBAI // A man is accused of raping his co-worker after luring her into taking a driving lesson with him.
Prosecutors said the 36-year-old Pakistani raped the 32-year-old Ukrainian real state agent in July after insisting he could teach her to drive using his car.
“During Eid Al Fitr holiday, we went to Deira and bought a mobile charger before heading to Al Qudra. He then told me to sit on his lap. I got mad and told him to take me home,” said the woman.
The defendant then turned the car around but got stuck in a sandy area.
“He got out from the car and took off his sports pants and started to remove the sand near the tyres,” she said.
After failed attempts to move the car, the defendant got back inside.
“He told me he loved me and kissed my hand, then he threw my handbag into the back seat and started kissing me,” she said.
Dubai Criminal Court heard that the defendant raped the Ukrainian while she was crying and trying to push him away.
“After he finished, he called someone who came and helped us with the car before he returned me to my home,” she said.
The woman told a friend and then reported the incident to the police.
A forensic report found traces of semen on the victim and a DNA test confirmed it belonged to the defendant.
In court on Tuesday, the Pakistani man denied a rape charge. “It was consensual,” he said.
The next hearing is on January 3.
