DUBAI // One man was injured in an eight-car pile-up on Sheikh Zayed Road yesterday afternoon, police said.
The crash occurred at around 3pm near the Civil Defence Roundabout, in the direction from Al Safa toward the Trade Center. A man trapped inside one of the cars was rescued by police.
He suffered moderate injuries, police said.
Three lanes of Sheikh Zayed Road had to be closed for about half an hour as a consequence of the crash, causing traffic jams in the area.
Police said the cause of the crash was under investigation.
