DUBAI // A man grabbed a woman’s behind as she was shopping then asked her what was wrong when she screamed at him, a court has been told.
On March 5 this year the Egyptian salesman, 22, followed the Bahraini woman around the shop in Al Warqa 2 before he stopped behind her and grabbed her.
The woman said she had noticed the defendant browsing the aisles.
“Out of nowhere he was behind me and squeezed my bottom with his hand,” she said. “I panicked and got hysterical and started shouting at him.
“He was acting like nothing had happened and asked me, ‘What’s wrong?’”
Footage from the shop’s security cameras showed the defendant following the woman before pressing himself against her.
In Dubai Criminal Court, the salesman denied a charge of molestation. The next hearing has been scheduled for April 19.
