RAS AL KHAIMAH // The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme is considering replacing houses damaged by floods and rainwater in Ras Al Khaimah, in response to calls from the public.
Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, minister of public works and chairman of the board of the SZHP, said the organisation will assess the rain-damaged homes.
Mr Al Nuaimi told Al Ittihad, The National's Arabic sister publication, that a team will visit all damaged homes to prepare reports as immediate maintenance started to allow owners to return to them.
He said that the Ministry of Public Works will cooperate with local authorities in the emirate to provide the necessary land for homes deemed in need of replacement after owners fulfil the requirements.
