The Vice President of Colombia has thanked the UAE for helping to fight the spread of Covid-19 in her country.

Marta Lucía Ramirez passed on greetings from Colombian President Ivan Duque Marquez to President Sheikh Khalifa, during a phone call on Thursday with Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs.

Ms Ramirez passed on her country’s gratitude to the UAE for providing medical assistance to help curb  coronavirus, according to state news agency Wam.

She also thanked Sheikh Mansour after the UAE had pledged to send 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines in the future.

Bilateral investments between the two nations were also discussed during the call.
