DUBAI // A new anti-drugs coalition has been formed between the UAE and Afghanistan on the sidelines of the International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The agreement between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Afghanistan aims at enhancing cooperation in the fight against drugs and exchanging expertise in the field of training and information.
The partnership will also utilise the best policing practices in the fight against drugs between the two countries.
The agreement was signed by Lt Gen Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Interior and by Lt Gen Baz Ahmadi, Assistant of the Afghan Minister of Interior for combating drugs, representing the Afghan Ministry of Interior.
On behalf of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the signing was attended by Abdul Samad Muneeb, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Fadlallah Rashtin, Acting Head of the Afghan Embassy in the UAE.
