The Armed Forces announced the death of a National Service recruit, who died while performing asr prayers.

ABU DHABI // A National Service recruit died on Sunday while performing afternoon prayers.

The Armed Forces General Headquarters on Monday said Sayyed Ibrahim Ismail Al Hashemi died while performing asr prayers at the training centre mosque.

The Armed Forces said it offered his family its deepest condolences and prays that Allah grant them patience and solace, reported Wam, the state news agency

It is not clear whether he was part of the sixth batch of National Service recruits, who began their military training at the Armed Forces' National Service centres on Saturday.

The location of the training centre was also not known.
