SHARJAH // Fourteen men have been arrested on suspicion of being part of a mass brawl that left two people dead.
The fight between Indian workers occurred on January 3 in the Al Sajaa industrial area and resulted in the death of two men while two others were injured.
Police said metal objects from construction sites were used as weapons. The Sharjah police command centre was tipped off at 8.30am about the fight.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found two dead men. Their bodies and the injured were taken to Al Qasimii and Kuwaiti hospitals.
Investigation lead to the arrest of 14 men involved in the brawl. Officers said the fight started because of a financial dispute.
The 14 men confessed to being involved in the fight and have been referred to Sharjah Public Prosecution.
