Flight attendant smuggled hundreds of anti-epilepsy drugs into Dubai

DUBAI // A flight attendant charged with bringing hundreds of capsules of an anti-epilepsy drug into the country told Dubai Criminal Court he was going to deliver them to a friend’s uncle.

On August 14, a customs inspector searched the 28-year-old Nigerian’s bags and found 616 Lyrica capsules.

“We found the capsules inside the bag. The defendant said he got the capsules from Somalia and was going to deliver them to a man in Dubai,” said the 27-year-old officer.

The defendant pleaded guilty when he appeared in court.

The next hearing will be on December 28.
