Etisalat slowdown in Abu Dhabi caused by ‘mobile network upgrade’



ABU DHABI // Etisalat internet services were unavailable for some users on Tuesday morning.

The telecommunications company said customers in some areas of Abu Dhabi experienced data service slowdown due to a mobile network upgrade.

Etisalat said service was fully restored later in the day.

Scores of UAE residents took to social media to complain about the slowdown in service.

Chris Conner, a web designer working in Dubai, said his office’s connection was so slow it was almost non-existent.

“Our office is almost at a halt,” he said.

Another user said his internet connection had been unstable and he had to wait more than 10 minutes to open a link.

Etisalat clients on Facebook said they kept losing internet which was with either slow or not connecting.
