The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has installed energy-efficient floodlights at Al Athba Primary School for Girls, as part of its goal to reduce energy consumption by 30 per cent, by 2030.
The lights were installed at the entrance and playgrounds of the school, located in Al Khawaneej.
Insufficient outdoor lighting had limited sporting events and other programmes.
Dr Ahmed Al Mansouri, the director of Dubai Educational Zone, said: “These projects will be a training hub for students in the school and a model for other schools.”
