DUBAI // Two UAE principals have been included in the top 100 education role models in the region.

Srivalsan Murugan, principal of Our Own English High School Boys’ Branch in Sharjah, and Kingston Gilbert, head of The Westminster School in Jebel Ali, made the 100 Outstanding Education Leaders in GCC list.

Both schools are operated by Gems Education.

The list is part of the Middle East Education Leadership Awards 2016, which is organised by the Asian Confederation of Businesses.

The two were presented with the Award for Excellence in Leadership for their efforts to align their schools with the requirements of the UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda.

Sir Christopher Stone, chief education officer for Gems, praised the work of the two principals.

“We go to great lengths to ensure our educators are some of the best in the world and awards like this are a testament to our school leaders,” he said. “Congratulations to both Kingston and Srivalsan.”
