Dubai stadium lights to be upgraded

The new lights will be erected at the main stadiums at Al Nasr, Al Wasl and Al Shabab sports clubs at a cost of up to Dh17.5 million.

Dubai Municipality has begun taking preparatory steps to develop floodlights according to standards outlined by football’s world governing body Fifa.

They will be erected at the main stadiums at Al Nasr, Al Wasl and Al Shabab sports clubs at a cost of up to Dh17.5 million.

Juma Khalifa Al Fuqaei, director of the general maintenance department at the municipality, said the project aimed to upgrade floodlights and other lighting units at the stadiums and was a major joint-cooperation initiative between Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Sports Council.
