Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed the retired US Marine Corps General Anthony Zinni to the UAE on Wednesday.
The general, who also served as commander of the United States Central Command, is visiting the country as part of his tour of the region. After retiring in 2000, he has maintained a keen interest in the region.
Sheikh Mohammed and the US envoy discussed ways of advancing the privileged co-operation and friendship ties between the two countries, during the meeting, which was held at Al Shati Palace.
The latest developments in the region and issues of mutual concern featured high during the discussions.
