DUBAI // Two visitors and a salesman were sentenced this morning to one year in prison each for stealing Dh6 million worth of goods from a Bahraini man’s villa in October.
Prosecutors said MK, 38, a salesman from Senegal; OS, 42, and ED, 34, both visitors from Guinea, broke into the villa in Jumeirah 3 in the early hours of October 8.
They stole two safes from one of the bedrooms after failing to carry away a bigger third safe, records said.
The owner of the villa, TY, a 40-year-old businessman, testified that he left the country with his wife in September. When he returned on October 11, he discovered the burglary.
A Dubai police captain testified that investigators tracked down the thieves by using the rental information from a Mitsubishi Pajero driven in the crime.
The three men will be deported after serving their prison terms.
