The occupied West Bank's Jenin refugee camp has become “almost uninhabitable”, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees has said.
Roland Friedrich, director of UNRWA affairs for the West Bank, said 2,000 families have been displaced since mid-December and that the agency had been unable to provide its full services in the area.
On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump issued an executive order designating Yemen's Houthis as a foreign terrorist organisation, reversing a decision by former president Joe Biden.
The White House said the Trump administration would work to “co-operate with its regional partners to eliminate the Houthis’ capabilities and operations, deprive them of resources, and thereby end their attacks on US personnel and civilians, US partners and maritime shipping in the Red Sea”.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the Trump administration was committed to supporting Israel during a call with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday.
Mr Rubio spoke to Mr Netanyahu to “underscore that maintaining the United States' steadfast support for Israel is a top priority for President Trump”, said State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce.
