Trattoria Toscana opens at Souk Madinat Jumeirah

The new restaurant Trattoria Toscana opened this week in the Souk Madinat Jumeirah.

The trattoria replaces the upscale Italian restaurant formerly known as Toscana. Toscana closed in June and underwent a complete makeover before relaunching as Trattoria Toscana.

The new casual eatery has a rustic menu filled with hearty Tuscan fare and is welcoming to diners of all ages. General manager Marco Di Pasquale says: “Trattoria Toscana offers something for everyone. We serve simple Tuscan-inspired food; good, wholesome, authentic cuisine that appeals to the whole family. The restaurant offers a relaxed dining experience that revolves around the ‘famiglia’ and fresh, seasonal flavours.”

Some of the restaurant’s signature dishes include pici allo scoglio (a type of thick Tuscan spaghetti mixed with seafood); pizza Toscana, topped with truffle fondue, porcini mushrooms, marinated beef, rocket and pecorino shavings; and desserts such as torta di mele (apple and cinnamon pie); and torta della nonna (grandmother’s cake).

To celebrate the opening, Trattoria Toscana will give guests a chance to win a trip to Tuscany by providing their contact details when they dine at the restaurant. The winner will be selected at random and announced on December 25.
