She might be known as the "Goddess of Pop", but Cher was also once the reigning queen of the red carpet.

While the singer and actress may make fewer appearances at awards shows and premieres nowadays, the Believe star could be relied on to step out in a suitably flamboyant creations throughout the 1960s, '70s and '80s.

The Moonstruck actress, born Cherilyn Sarkisian, first found fame as a teen singer, before achieving chart success as part of the duo Sonny & Cher, with her former husband Sonny Bono.

The two fronted their own TV show before disbanding in the '70s, with Cher going on to find cinematic success in the '80s, with roles such as her Oscar-nominated turn in 1983's Silkwood.

Add to that a Las Vegas residency, a renaissance as an electro-pop sensation and decades of philanthropic work, and Cher's CV is just as eclectic as her onstage wardrobe.

However, when it comes to parties and premieres, the star is a little more muted, favouring sleek separates, little black dresses and ultra-casual jeans over the decades.
