Ever been in a taxi in the UAE with a driver who doesn’t know where he is going? You aren’t the only one.

None other than three-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton lived the experience during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend.

Hamilton was on Britain's BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw on Thursday morning, and when Grimshaw asked how he felt about other people driving him, Hamilton said that although he is probably the most relaxed passenger there is, he had had an incident in the UAE with a bad driver.

“The other day I did have a really bad driver. We were coming from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and this guy got lost. It was the worst, this driver, such a sweet man but he had no navigation and he had no idea where we were going. So I had to get my phone out and give him directions and, you can just imagine, he had the thickest accent as well. We lost like two and half hours trying to get to the airport.”

Grimshaw asked whether the driver had known he was driving Lewis Hamilton, thinking maybe the pressure had gotten to him. Lewis laughed and said, no, the driver hadn’t known.

Hamilton, who finished second in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, also revealed that he is planning on releasing a music album soon.
