The Bollywood actress Kajol, whose fans have been excited about her impending return to cinema after four whole years, has opted out of the comeback project she was to star in, ndtv.com reports. Her husband, the actor Ajay Devgn, is one of the film's co-producers. Taking her place is Kareena Kapoor, who starred opposite Devgn in the recently released blockbuster Singham Returns.
The film, yet untitled, is said to be based on the Dutch television series Penoza, and will be directed by Ram Madhvani. Penoza is the story of Carmen, a young mother who takes to a life of crime in a bid to protect her children after her husband is murdered.
Kapoor, who has worked with Kajol in Karan Johar’s We Are Family and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, apparently “likes” the script.
